HCG is a popular addition to a weight-loss program used by millions across the U.S. Combined with a specific very low-calorie diet (500 calories per day), and exercise, the HCG program leads to rapid weight loss in most individuals who faithfully follow the program guidelines. In fact, it is not uncommon to lose more than a pound per day for the first weeks of the diet, depending upon how much one has to lose.
HCG comes in different forms. Many people opt for the sublingual drops for placement under the tongue. Under the tongue is a highly absorbent place in the body, leading to faster absorption than swallowing can provide.
But many HCG dieters opt for the HCG injections. Do not be intimidated by the needle. Unless you have a real fear of shots, you can successfully administer these injections yourself. It is actually not that difficult to do the injections and it is the most direct method for administering HCG into the body.
Make sure that the needle is new, always, as dirty needles can lead to severe illness or even death. The rubber cap on the bottle needs to be freshly wiped with rubbing alcohol. As you draw the solution out, make sure that you do not draw any specks in. Sometimes the perforation of the needle through the rubber cap leaves a tiny speck of rubber.
Also, as you draw the solution into the needle, try not to leave an air vacuum in the bottle as you pull out the syringe, because the alcohol wiped on the top or surface bacteria could be sucked into the bottle and contaminate it.
Injections need to be into the muscle, not into surface fat. So, for obese patients, pressing on the buttocks to reach the muscle is standard practice. Use a very thin 2-inch long needle. Most of all, just follow basic needle and injection safety tips and you should soon be accustomed to doing your own HCG injections at home.
